Introduction
The statistical properties of photons are important to understand when
studying astronomy. We know that there is a certain quantum
mechanical probability that a photon will or will not be released from
an excited atom. In this experiment, we attempt to
analyze this probability from a statistical point of view. We will do
this by examining the error and variability of photon counts as we
vary certain parameters of the experiment.
